Gillian Smith has the right experience for University-Rosedale. A proven community-builder who leads with her head, and her heart, she has more than twenty years of experience in executive leadership and senior management in the not-for-profit and private sectors.
Gillian is the Chief Marketing Officer at the Toronto Region Board of Trade and previously served as Chief Executive Officer of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship, a national charity that promotes inclusion and active citizenship.
Gillian is a dedicated community volunteer: she is a board director with Business for the Arts and Culture Days; serves on committees with the Art Gallery of Ontario; and participates in an advisory capacity with the G(irls)20, CivicAction and Lifeline Syria, to name a few organizations. Previously, she served as Chair of the Toronto Public Library Foundation, Vice Chair of Community Food Centres Canada and, for seventeen years, served on the board of The Stop Community Food Centre (as Board Chair and Director).
Gillian is a graduate of Queen’s University. She is married to Paul, the proud mum of four-year-old twins, Aurélie and Clémentine, and stepmum to Arnaud.
